My name is Zoe, and my karting journey really began in 2020 when I tried indoor karting for the first time at age ten.. Without any formal coaching I jumped right in and entered the 2021 BIKC championship where I reached regional finals in Newcastle.
2023 my passion for racing was really beginning to show and made the leap to owner karting, purchasing my first Junior Rotax kart at the beginning of the year. The year was spent testing, building my confidence and gaining my race licence to ensure I was ready to race in 2024. Reaching the final round of the X-Kart Scholarship also gave me further insight, focus and the tools to kickstart my first year in owner karting.
2024 my goal was to complete all my novice sessions so I could come off my novice plates and really start racing. I did this by completing all four rounds of the West of Scotland Karting championship which was no mean feat due to large grids. Successful fundraising throughout the year allowed me to compete in four further races at different tracks allowing me to upgrade my race licence to a national licence and exceeding my objective for the year.
Off track I like to promote girls in racing. I’ve taken part in three events throughout 2024 at Knockhill race circuit showcasing my kart and girls in karting. On top of this, I've attended local fayres throughout the year to raise funds to keep me racing and to further promote myself and girls in this sport.
What I love about karting is the speed and how it encourages me to be the best version of me in all I do. Since I started karting my self-confidence has grown exponentially. I also enjoy working as a team with my family, Dad as head mechanic and Mum managing the finances, social media and keeping me grounded and focused. Karting is keeping us close together as a family.
Looking to the future, I am looking for sponsorship to help me stay on track and to continue growing in the sport. In 2025, I will transition from Junior Rotax to Senior. I am also excited to be racing under LMMotorsport for 2025 and plan to race in ASKC plus one other championship.
